About the Paso Fino Horse Breed The PasoFino is a naturally gaited light horse breed dating back to the first descendant horses imported with Christopher Columbus's second voyage to the Caribbean from Spain. The Paso Fino breed traces its ancestry to the Spanish Barb, Spanish Jennet and Andalusian horses. Paso Finos are prized for their smooth, natural gaits for the ultimate Cadillac equine ride. Paso Fino foals are born with the gait. The Paso Fino gait is performed with an evenly spaced four beat footfall at different speeds and degrees of collection or extension to create a bounce free riding gait. The horses are versatile in their uses ... pleasure, trail, competitive distance riding, gaited dressage, show competition and personal companionship.
Since 1984, Gracewood Farm has specialized in the breeding and training of quality versatile recreational pleasure Paso Fino horses, with friendly and willing dispositions and naturally smooth riding gaits. Sizes can range from 13.2 hands to 15 hands with around 14 hands tall being average. All solid colors can be found with white markings on the face and legs. Primitive markings can be seen on horses with the dun factor, including the rarer grulla color. The farm has a wide range of ages and both mares and geldings available for sale to approved forever homes.
